Terms and Conditions

 

1. A deposit is required for all cake orders, which reserves your event date and is non-refundable.

2. Payment may be made by:

   • Cash

   • Direct transfer into bank account

3. Cakes by Minel must receive the balance by the due date indicated or contract is null and void, and deposit will not be refunded.  No Payment = No Cake

4. Any alterations to the original order must be confirmed in writing and may be subject to an additional charge.  Late amendments to orders are often possible and every effort will be made to accommodate changes, but cannot be guaranteed.  Last date for any alternations is 6 weeks prior to the delivery date. Changes to your order may result in an admin charge.

5. In the event of cancellation, work already completed is chargeable.

6. Cakes by Minel is not responsible for any damage to the cake after setup is complete.  You are responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the cakes.  Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 75 degrees or below.

7. If you or your representative elect to pick up and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Cakes by Minel’s possession.  

8. Cakes by Minel’s products may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens. You agree to notify your guests of this risk and hold us harmless for allergic reactions.

9. If fresh flowers are provided, you acknowledge that fresh flowers are not a food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. Certain fresh flowers are not food safe and can not be used on your cake. 

10. Hand made decoration can vary from the original design although every effort will be made to replicate designs. 

11. You consent for Cakes by Minel to show case any creations by Cakes by Minel on social networking sites and also for business presentation, consultation and exhibitions. Cakes by Minel may approach any photographing services directly to obtain images for social networking sites, business presentation, consultations and exhibitions. Cakes by Minel reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.

12. Performance of this agreement is contingent upon the ability of Cakes by Minel to complete the agreement and is subject to accidents, Acts of God, labor disputes or strikes and other causes beyond our control.

13. In the unlikely event there is a problem with your cake and you wish to return it, contact me at the earliest opportunity. Clearly explain the problem. There will need to be at least 75% of the cake left if a refund is requested subject to Cakes by Minel being at fault. Cakes by Minel is not responsible for any damage after delivery and set up. However, if the cake is slightly damaged by a venue don’t panic, contact me and I will try and advise on how to fix it.

 

Equipment Details

 

If your cake requires equipment such as columns, cake plates or a stand, a security deposit must be left with Cakes by Minel at the time of final payment in order to ensure safe return of the equipment. Cakes by Minel will return this security deposit when the equipment is returned to us in original condition no later than the equipment return date.  Any late returns will be charged at £5 per calendar day.  The security deposit is forfeit if equipment is lost or not returned a week after the return date.  The security deposit will be returned via the same payment method.​​
